Working Adults
Adults that would like to continue in school or head to school for the first time have many options available to them to make it more convenient. As a WSU student you have the option of attending classes on main campus, at our extension locations or online. Classes are also offered in the evenings and on weekends to work within your schedule. The following options are available to you to start your studies as a Wayne State student:
Transfer and Workforce in Transition Open House
The Transfer and Workforce in Transition Open House is a program for students interested in transferring to Wayne State University and adults considering a career change. The Open House will be held June 11, 2008 from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Welcome Center. For more information and to make a reservation visit www.admissions.wayne.edu/transition.
Want to pursue a bachelor's degree?
Students interested in obtaining a bachelor’s degree must apply as an undergraduate student. For those who have earned college credit, apply as a transfer student; students who have not earned college credit apply as a freshman student.
Not enrolled in a degree program?
If you are not interested in a degree at this time but would like to take credit courses, you can apply as a non-matriculant student. This status allows students to earn college credit without admittance to a degree program.
Want to take a class for personal enrichment?
If you would like to take classes for enrichment, not for college credit, you can attend as a visitor student. As a student visitor you will be able to attend classes without having to take exams. The tuition rate for student visitors is discounted. For more information on this status please contact Metropolitan Programs and Summer Sessions at (313) 577-4665.
Starting over?
If you are interested in taking a new direction due to the transitional economy, and are interested in obtaining a degree, please visit our site, A New Start for more information.
